Today is a big day in Liverpool – we play host to our arch rivals Manchester United. They are currently top of the league and we are in 5th position so we really need to beat them.

Yesterday Liverpool FC advanced to the last 16, knockout stage of the Champions League with a 4-0 demolition job over Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome in France.

The whole team played really well but my personal choice for the player of the match has to be Stevie Gerrard who played a true captains game and inspired the whole team.

The team has scored an incredible 16 goals in their last three Champions League to emphasize their class. I am sure all the other teams left in the draw will be hoping not to draw Liverpool as based on their current form they are unbeatable in this league!

Fernando Torres is showing why Rafa spent so much on him by turning in a world class performance, absolutely dazzling the Marseille defenders with his skill and pace.

He also scored one of the best goals the season when he skinned two or three defenders before coolly slotting the ball past the keeper. What a player he is! Surely he will go down in history as one of the greatest players ever to pull on that famous Liverpool jersey.

The Coolest Team On The Planet won again today – beating Newcastle FC 3-0 and they are at last starting to look like a team that can win the league again. They played so well that Newcastle looked like an amateur team.

The best part of the win was that it was away from home at St. James Park. The coolest footballer on the planet Stevie Gerarrd scored the opening goal with a brilliantly taken free kick.

What a shot it was too – a 30 yard beauty! Just after half time Dirk Kuyt made it 2-0 from a corner and Ryan Babel completed the destruction of the Geordies with an excellent goal after some cool interplay with the coolest footballer on the planet.

What a game – what a team. Well done guys!

This has just GOT to be the coolest football anthem on the planet. It is called You’ll Never Walk Alone and is sung by the best football fans on the planet, bar none.

Jordy Currie aka the coolest kid on the planet posing as a Scotsman at his granddads house. Also with him are Rusty and Lola, the coolest Rhodesian ridgebacks on the planet.

The coolest football team on the planet is without doubt Liverpool Football Club! They have been around since 1892 and have won the league more times than any other club in England.

They have also been champions of Europe 5 times. Their captain is Steven Gerrard, one of the greatest football players ever. He is very inspirational and get my vote for the coolest football player on the planet.

The fans sing like no other set of fans in the world and their anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” brings tears to the eyes of mans supporters around the world.

These guys are true supporters who really know the game of football and probably also qualify as the coolest football fans on the planet!

I know they do because I am one of them! My Dad and Uncle Vince also loves them and they are teaching me the songs. I already know “Steve Gerrard, Gerrard, he scores from 40 yards.”

Talking about my uncle Vince, he just bought me a really cool sticker album with all the Liverpool players. I can’t wait to collect them all!

Imagine playing in a world cup final and losing. It must be disappointing but is that an excuse for bad manners? I think not.

Jonny Wilkinson deliberately snubbed the South African president on Saturday night.

He brushed the presidents hand away, refusing to shake hands – this smacks of bad manners, petulance and rudeness and certainly qualifies him for my nominee for the uncoolest rugby player on the planet.

It makes no difference whether one agrees with a politicians views or  not, basic good manners should prevail.

This  sort of behavior is certainly no example to the many millions of kids watching television.
